We all need a clear-out every so often, and when doing so, it’s common to find many items that you no longer use. Some people might decide it’s a good idea to donate these items, which is very kind. In this blog, we’re looking at how to prepare your items for donation to a Regenerage charity shop.
Deciding to declutter the home
Making the decision to start decluttering can be a tough one. Usually, it means giving up many hours of your day to sit in the middle of piles of unwanted clothes, items and much more! If you need a little help, check out our blog on how to declutter and donate.
Clothing and accessories are very popular items to donate to a Regenerage charity shop. Some items that are donated have only been worn a couple of times. Higher quality items may have been worn more, but because of their durable fabrics, they are still in great condition years after being produced.
Preparing your items for donation to a Regenerage charity shop
Dropping off your items at a Regenerage charity shop doesn’t need to feel like a big job, but it’s crucial that you ensure they are all in good condition.
Consider joining our Gift Aid scheme
UK taxpayers can add Gift Aid to their donations, meaning the charity can receive extra money from the Government. For every £1 raised from selling donated items, the Government will give the charity an additional 25 pence as part of the Gift Aid.
Can I have my donations collected?
We work alongside Boxmove to collect furniture donations. We can collect items within a 12-mile radius of our store. Find out more about our home collection here.
For home collections of non-furniture items, please call us on 01204 201389
For unusual or bulky items that you want to drop off, it may be best to call ahead first to check that the shop has space to take them.
