Are you thinking about becoming a volunteer? There are plenty of volunteering opportunities available through Regenerage. In this blog, we’re letting you know the unexpected benefits of charity shop volunteering.
Volunteering opportunities in Bolton
Regenerage offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities in Bolton, including retail roles, befriending roles and other dementia support opportunities. We are always searching for volunteers to help us continue offering our services.
We also welcome volunteers to fundraise for us while taking part in challenges or charity events, such as running, cycling, swimming, or other activities.
Retail shop volunteers
Regenerage has seven charity shops located across Lancashire, and we’d love your support. Our charity shops accept donations of all kinds, including clothing, furniture, toys and much more.
As a volunteer, you can help us by sorting donated items and preparing them for sale. We may ask you to help fellow volunteers with window displays or sort items by age group. These roles are great because they also enable volunteers to be more socially involved if they wish. Sorting donations is important because it supports our mission to promote a circular economy and reduce waste.
Befriending services
Our mission at Regenerage is to help older people live and age well across Lancashire. One of the many ways that we achieve this is by supporting those who are living with dementia and memory loss.
Our befriending volunteers will be carefully matched with someone who is struggling with dementia or loneliness. They will make weekly phone calls or visits, which help to provide companionship and significantly improve a person’s quality of life.
Activity centre volunteers
Regenerage has three activity centres located across Lancashire. These centres provide day care for people living with dementia and loneliness, giving them space to relax, learn new skills and meet new people.
Our activity centres are located in Lostock Hall, Fulwood and Bamber Bridge. When visiting the centres, service users can enjoy a range of activities, including gardening, dancing, music, knitting, games and much more.
