A note from our CEO.

During its 43-year service history, Regenerage has delivered support to tens of thousands of older local people enabling them to live well and age well and it has done so enabled by a small army of dedicated volunteers.

Today 150 local people, aged from 18 to 90 frequently and regularly volunteer with us, helping oil the wheels of all areas of the charity.  Some deliver activities for our service users in our day centres, and those who provide life-affirming friendship and assistance to our very lonely and isolated customers. Our dementia-friendly gardens at the Charnley Fold and Withy Trees centres are regularly maintained by volunteers.  If you visit our Leyland Head Quarters for advice you may be greeted by volunteer receptionists.  Behind the scenes, added value is given to our finance team by a volunteer who has supported us weekly for over 10 years.  And our growing chain of charity retail shops located from Cleveleys on the west coast to Chorley in the East could not have achieved the £1.1 Million turnover without the dedication of its consistently energetic retail volunteers who sift, sort and steam donated goods and serve our customers on the shop floor seven days a week.

And finally, acknowledgement to our Trustees who commit their time and donate their diverse professional expertise and life skills ensuring that the charity is governed effectively and well-led.

This year we will be saying farewell to two Trustees, Mr Pratap Parmar and Mr Tony Readett, who have strategically guided the charity for over 10 years and who will retire in November.

Thank you! We simply could not do what we do without you all.

And to those of you who may be contemplating charity volunteering but haven’t made the leap, I say come on down and have a go.  Come and see for yourself.  You will find friendship and emotional support.  You can learn new things and benefit from the satisfaction that the skills you bring will make a valuable contribution to our local communities.

We have opportunities in all areas of the charity and are especially seeking support in charity retailing and with the board of Trustees at this time.
